I completely adjusted to waking up between 6 and 7 in the morning and going to bed around midnight at this point so I really wouldn’t really consider this too early of a morning.
After breakfast, we assembled in the lobby and made our way to Burson-Marsteller, a PR firm in Milan. When we got there, we walked to the conference room and on the way there, they had to most interesting art on the wall. Everyone was nude in these weird positions but they kind of made sense for the aesthetic of the building, which was lots of red. I can’t explain how it makes sense, but I really wish I photographed the area to show in my blogs.
On a tangent, I always live things through my lens and not my eyes. I really wanted to take this trip and really focus on experiencing it through my eyes and stay away from my camera. I didn’t touch my DSLR once. I wish I didn’t bring it because what I did take pictures of, my iPhone did just fine.
Anyways, the lectures started to begin and we were all really tired and Fabio Caporizzi, CEO, noticed that so they let us have a coffee break. I had once small glass and I was bouncing off the walls.
I don’t know what’s in the coffee here but it does wonders.
They showed a video they produced for Campari, and liquor, that revolved around a photographer trying to photograph the secret Red Glove bartender. It was so grabbing.
It turns out that the there are multiple Red Glove Campari bartenders around the world.
At the end of their lecture, they served us Campari (we weren’t really a fan) and were generous to serve us lunch of different sandwiches.
From there, we made our way to RAI Milan Productions, the TV station in Italy. They toured us around the entire station, including giving us a demonstration of lights in the game show studio. It was so interesting because we watched the news every morning here. It’s crazy how much they talk about American politics in Europe.
I also began to saw many RAI cars everywhere I went. These visits took up practically the entire day, so we had the evening at our own leisure. We went to a buffet styled bar called Blender Bar that had an endless buffet and a drink for 11 Euro.
They had a lot of steamed vegetables and pastas that really hit the spot for us. We were all a little deprived of vegetables. From there, we all went back to the hotel to work on blogs and rest since we had another big media day tomorrow.
