It’s our last full day in Italy for our International Media trip, and it’s the most anticipated media visit for me. Hearst Italia.

Walking there, I remember getting almost debilitating butterflies because I love fashion, and Milan is the fashion capital of Italy.

We got up to the offices and it immediately reminded me of the old Nickelodeon show True Jackson V.P.

We met:

Giulia Giacomuzzo – Advertising Sales Assistant

Eleonora De Franceschi – International Advertising Account

Lisa Mancini – Fashion Editor, Cosmopolitan

Fabiola Ballarini – Editor, Elle

Antonio Mancinelli – Senior Editor, Marie Claire

I had so many questions to ask and Jan thanked me at the end for being so active with good questions(when there was absolutely no reason to thank me because I truly was so intrigued and I know everyone else was too).

Kimmie really pressured them with a question about diversity in bodies after they explained how Hailey Baldwin has the perfect body and how they described her as fit and not skinny. They definitely sugarcoated their answer by bringing up Winnie Harlow’s (she’s very skinny) skin. They said they’re making their way to more diversity in their media.

After Hearst, we had a free afternoon to do whatever we want. We all went shopping.

In the evening, we assembled in the lobby for a group meeting where we talked about our favorite parts of the trip and gave all of the professors cards to thank them for arranging this trip for us.

We then made our way to the farewell dinner. After eating a two course meal, we celebrated Emily’s 21st birthday. They came out with sparklers and champagne.

Matteo also messaged us and let us know that we are the first group in 20 years to have a place take the time to say what a good group we are and that he never experienced that nor did anyone else that he knew.

From there, we went to Blender’sagain to celebrate both Emily and our last day in Italy together.
