For our final day in Milan, we fittingly visited Hearst magazine, the company in charge of fashion publications such as Cosmopolitan, Elle, and Marie Claire.

After a presentation from some awesome female (and one male) leaders of the company we toured the individual floors dedicated to Elle, Cosmo, and Marie Claire.

We had a chance to speak to several editors-in-chief and writers in other various positions. What I found interesting while speaking to the Cosmo Italia editor-in-chief was that she started out writing for a financial magazine, monitoring the stocks for fashion and makeup companies. It was really inspiring to see so many women in positions of power at such an influential company.

After our meeting there, we headed back into the city center for some shopping!

We hit up all the store we could, including another Disney store of course. Kristina had done some research and took us into some lesser-know places. In a store called stories Kayla and I both found gifts for family members back home: Gold hoops for Kayla’s sister and a delicate golden bracelet with a starfish on the end for my mother. This store is also where I found my big purchase of the trip: pink suede boots. Kristina found them and told me I had to have them, since they matched my famous Lizzie McGuire hate. She was right.

Finally, we had our last group dinner at a restaurant called . We had a delicious three course meal, starting with a plate of cold cuts, followed by ravioli, and ending with steak and rosemary potatoes.

We toasted with champagne and ate a delicious chocolate brownie with pineapple drizzle.

We then headed home to pack up and get ready for the long travel home.
