I can’t believe our trip is about to end. But finishing it off at Hearst Italia is really exciting. This feels like every little girl’s dream, aside from becoming a princess maybe.
The people at Hearst, much like everyone on our trip, were so welcoming. They were so willing to answer (most) of our questions. Although I did find it frustrating that they skirted around Kimmie’s question about their diversity efforts, because they didn’t really answer it.
I just find it frustrating that Hearst and all of the magazines they run have all the power to change the way women are portrayed in magazines and they don’t. I know in Italy people don’t really care as much about representation or diversity. But I can’t imagine it’s not on the minds of young Italian girls.
Aside from that visiting them was really fun. I even talked to Antonio for a while about thrift shopping and what he sees as future trends (for those of you wondering, he said minimalism, customization, and individuality).
I finally got some free time to shop in Milan!! I’m way too poor to buy something from Gucci, or Prada, or some other luxury brand. But I did buy some cute pants from Bershka. If I had all day I’d probably blow every cent I’ve ever made.
Our last dinner in Italy did not disappoint. It was so much food and I did my best to eat all of it (which was a running theme of our meals). Getting sung to at the end of dinner (and getting some prosecco) was such an amazing surprise. I felt so loved. It was an incredible way to close the trip. I’m going to miss Italy so much. But don’t worry, I’ll get all mushy tomorrow.
