Today was our only free day for the entire trip in Florence, Italy. We started off the morning by sleeping in and skipping breakfast only because we were so exhausted from the trip thus far. There were a lot of options and plans going around on what to do today but we settled on shopping around the city. After we got ready we decided to head out.

We first stopped at a coffee shop and grabbed some caramel, almond, and hazelnut coffee which didn’t even taste like coffee that’s how good it was. Then we headed towards H&M and I bought a very cute pink t-shirt. Then we went into some more expensive stores that the salespeople were definitely judging us but that’s alright. We ran into some others from our group who were in a shop called Florenizia.

My goal for Florence as I previously mentioned was to buy a leather purse. We went back to the market and I founded one I really enjoyed but I still was unsure if it was real or not. I was just about to give up hope until we stumbled upon a leather shop called Toro I walked in and fell in love with a bag but I thought it was too “old lady” for me the sales lady lead me over to a different part  of the shop and showed me the same bag only in a different shape and I said SOLD. It is quite gorgeous and I’m very happy with my purchase.

Next, we headed back to the hotel and relaxed a little bit. We went to the rooftop deck of our hotel to relax and then it started raining but thankfully the rooftop was covered but it was so nice to just sit outside.

Although I love being in Italy I was in desperate of some protein. Florence is famous for their Florentine steak that is 2 lbs. II Latini was the name of the restaurant that our tour guide, Matteo, recommended. We got to the restaurant and there was a line to get in because people were still waiting for it to open. My friend, Emma, shoved her way to the front and the lady who was dealing with everyone at the door was getting very annoyed with everyone shouting at her. Emma quietly stood next to her not pushing her and she then turned to her and asked how many and she quickly got us in. The Florentine steak was 50 euros and we split it between four of us. Now those of you that know me know that I’m a huge steak girl, ever since I was little I’ve always loved steak. This steak was probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. It was so juicy and it was seasoned to perfection. We seemed to impress the waiters because between four of us we finished the steak and they brought was free limoncello.

After the restaurant, a group of us went to the Irish Pub across the street for a few drinks. It was just a really chill night and a whole lot of fun. It was also nice to have a free day and not be rushed by tours and media visits. Gelato Update: I didn’t have any (that steak was too filling). Stay tuned for tomorrow as we take on Venice.
