Our last full day in Rome might’ve been the best one yet.

My roommates and I all slept in this morning, skipping breakfast to sleep just a little bit longer. These trips really take all your energy.

Our group headed to Enel today, which is an international energy company. We had the chance to speak with Ivano Ferioli, the head of internal communications at Enel, and some of his colleagues.

The visit was different from others that we have been to this far, as Enel is not a media company on its own. The company, however, does utilize a large internal communications department in order to run their company.  Because of the size of their office, the use of radio, video, email, and other platforms makes sense, especially handling relations internationally.

While there, we were able to tour their facilities, including the radio and TV studio. Victoria and I were able to do a mock-interview in the studio just for the sake of trying it out. We also ate lunch in their cafeteria, which had surprisingly good food for a corporation.

We hopped back on the tram after the visit and rode all the way back to our hotel. Because we arrived back at the hotel later than expected, we decided that it might not be worth it to try and venture out. We only had a few short hours before meeting for dinner.

Dinner was incredible and so much fun. Tonight we headed to an Italian cooking lesson where we learned to make pasta! We made ravioli and gnocchi with our groups, which the chefs then prepared and served to us.

The location is built over an ancient temple, which you can see through the glass floor in the back room. We then moved to the next building over, where we were going to eat. Previously that room was Marlon Brando’s apartment.

The experience was a once in a lifetime chance, and I’m so happy we had the opportunity.

Sadly, tonight we say goodbye to Andrea, one of the tour guides who have been with our group since Sunday. And tomorrow morning, we say goodbye to Rome.

Next stop: Assisi!
