After I put an Icy Hot on my knee and rested my feet from last nights adventures we were ready to take on the day. Today we had two media visits planned for Artattack and La Repubblica. Artattack is a marketing/advertising firm, and La Repubblica is a newspaper. First was Artattack, the gentleman who spoke with us were very entertaining and kept the visit fun. It was very refreshing to see three people who loved their job so much and were so excited to share their company with us. Artattack was probably the most interesting to me since it was the closest to my major (PR & Advertising) so far. After we met with Artattack they some drinks and snacks for us the indulge in, I had three pizza type things, and there were also little sandwiches and pastries. When we left Artattack, we had about 45 minutes for lunch. I was full of the snacks, but I decided I had room for gelato (Gelato update: it was cream and chocolate flavored). While walking to the gelato place, we found plenty of photo shoot opportunities and listened to an accordion player play “Despacito.” After our lovely afternoon on the town in Rome, we caught a bus to La Repubblica. When we entered La Repubblica, it was almost like a TV studio set-up, and it was stunning. The building was so modern and futuristic which was a very different take on media outlets in the states. La Repubblica was so creative and innovative and had a great way of collecting data. Tonight we finally got out of our media visits early enough so we could enjoy a night on the town. Some of us decided to go to the Pittsburgh-themed bar they have in Rome. A little while after we got on the tram it started downpouring, and when we got off the tram, everyone was immediately soaked even though we had umbrellas. The Rome streets are so unpredictable that everywhere you turned you didn’t know if you were stepping in a puddle or if you were okay. Also, we had no idea where we were going and began asking people for directions, and everyone we asked didn’t seem to know until finally, we found. When we walked in, we saw some other people from our group who were already dining. We had such an eventful trip there we decided to make the most of it and grab some cocktails I had an Italian Iced Tea (actually 2) which were incredibly fruity and delicious and then we all proceeded to try each other’s drinks. The Pittsburgh bar had flags from universities all across Pennsylvania including Point Park as well as Gannon University and Mercyhurst which are universities in my hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania. The owner of the Pittsburgh Bar Giovanni then took us to a cute little dinner place where we all dined on spaghetti and pizza. After left dinner, it was nearing midnight which was when the tram stops running, so we ran off our dinner by trying to catch the tram. This was probably my favorite night in Rome so far even though it rained and was miserable it’s a memory that I will always remember.
