Hello friends!

Today was a fabulous day 2 in Rome.  Laura and I woke up early and had to share our small bathroom to get ready.  We went to breakfast in our hostel’s lobby. I tried breakfast pie, nutella toast, and cereal with unrefrigerated milk.  A lot of the breakfast options were very sweet.

The nutella tasted so much better in Italy!  There were donuts with nutella in them, as well.  They were amazing!

Following breakfast, Laura and I adventured around our neighborhood.  We saw the Mt. Washington version of Italy. The view was breathtaking, and we thought it was a hidden gem of Italy atop a beautiful sight of stairs and trails.  However, later in the day, my class stopped there during our walk to the American University of Rome.

At the American University of Rome, we learned about Italian history and media.  We also heard an inside scoop of what traveling abroad was like.  The campus was small but comfortable.  If I was not an upcoming senior, I would definitely consider studying abroad.

After our visit at the American University of Rome, we got to see the Colosseum and the Forum.  It was absolutely gorgeous, and I learned so much about Italian history.

It started pouring just before dinner time, but we did not let it damper our fun!

After the Forum, a few of us went to dinner near the Colosseum.  I ordered white wine and cheese raviolis. It was so delicious and relaxing.  We sat with a view of a fountain.  Afterwards, we got gelato and headed back to the tram.

Getting lost in Italy and trying to find our way back to the hostel was definitely an adventure.  This was by far my favorite night of vacation, and I cannot wait for many more like it.

Thanks for reading!

Sincerely,

Courtney
