Hi!
I’m Nikole Kost, a junior photojournalism major at Point Park. I’m the president of NPPA, a staff photographer for the Point Park News Service and the former news photo editor at the Globe. I also freelance for multiple publications locally and nationally. My minor is modern languages with a concentration in Chinese and Arabic, and look forward to being fully emerged in the Italian language.

I decided to take this class because ultimately I think I want to pursue a a career in international media. The thought of being paid to  travel around the world to cover to cover things that the normal person doesn’t have access to really intrigues me and makes me excited because I don’t want to work a normal 9-5 desk job. I want to take advantage of my youth, health and talents to take that internationally while I am still able to do that. Also, to be paid to do it as well. I also want to add Italian to the list of languages I know the basics of. I’ve been told that if you fully indulge yourself into a country, you will pick up on the language more accurate are more quickly than you would of having that language as a class for years. I’m also really looking forward to the food.

I’ve never left the east coast of the US, so this is my first time being abroad. I am also staying an additional two weeks in Rome, Milan, Amalfi Coast and Barcelona.
