I was so excited to head to our media visit today at Heart Italia. Hearst is home to Cosmopolitan, Elle, and Marie Claire.

It was an honor getting to meet the individuals that put together this amazing magazine. I would have never have guessed that Cosmo and Elle share an office space. However, Marie Claire is too much of a competitor so they are located on the floor below.

Before we left, they gave us a copy of Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire’s April magazine. It is in Italian, but I can still forecast trends by flipping through the pictures.

Once we left Hearst Italia, we took the metro to the Duomo. While there, we had pizza for lunch. The waiter did not speak English, but we both spoke Spanish so I was able to communicate.

Thank God I could speak to him because when the check came it was wrong (three times). That was the first time I felt like someone was trying to take advantage of me for being a tourist.

We then shopped around for a little bit and observed the Duomo. I got very sad when we were leaving because I realized that was the last time I would see a staple of Italy.

We took a taxi back to the hotel which was surprisingly inexpensive. Laura and I packed and took a nap before dinner.

Dinner was delicious! We had antipasti which I was not a huge fan of. The raviolis that were served for the first course were amazing.

The second course was salad, potatoes, and Italian steak. The steak was very red so I ate a little bit of the darker outskirts. The potatoes were the best I have ever tasted.

For dessert, we had cake and sparkling wine to celebrate Emily’s birthday. All together, it was a great last meal.

This trip was an incredible experience to learn about Italian history and culture. Through my time here, I have learned a lot about myself, as well. I cannot wait to see where I travel to next!
