Today was a day full of media visits. We went to Burston-Marsteller and Rai.
I absolutely loved Burson-Matsteller because I am a Public Relations and Advertising major. Getting to hear how the company advertises all of their clients to different audiences was incredible.
My favorite product to learn about was Compari. Through their videos, Burson-Marsteller was able to enhance the product’s a brand identity through storytelling. Even though the premises of the short film was a tad cheesy, it was memorable.
The usage of a red glove was genius because it associates the bright red color of the drink. An idea that is simply unforgettable.
We ate a small lunch that the agency had provided. Following our meal, the class took public transportation to Rai.
Rai was a fabulous visit because we were able to see all of their studios. My favorite part of the visit was getting to see the radio studio during a set.
I never knew that the producers and radio personnel were separated by glass. It makes total sense that they are able to see each other and communicate throughout the show.
When we arrived back to the hotel, I went for a run around Milan. I was craving a workout and some me time. It started to rain so I had to go back to the hotel to prepare for dinner. This was the view during my job.
Laura and I saw a flier for a Japanese restaurant on the corner. It was raining so hard that we did not want to risk going to a restaurant far away. We decided to give it a shot.
I am very glad we tried it because it was some of the best food we have had all trip!
We started off with an Italian spritzer. This drink is a staple of Italian cuisine. We then ordered spring rolls as an appetizer.
For our main course, we had chicken fried rice. It was delightful, but we had a sweet tooth. Therefore, we topped off the night with chocolate cake.
After dinner, we headed back to the room to go to bed. I am so excited to see Hearst Italia tomorrow!
