The bus ride to Assisi was magical. Of course I slept the first half of the bus ride, but the second half was gorgeous. I was not exactly sure what to expect with coming to Assisi. I knew it was a calm area, so I was excited.

Upon getting off the bus, only a set of squeaky escalators separated us from this lovely town. When I first saw Assisi, I was mind blown. This little town is straight out of a Disney movie. I was waiting for locals to start popping out of  windows to sing.

We were allotted a decent bit of free time to check the place out. The shops were adorable. I went into a shop that quickly stitched your name into a piece of fabric of your choice. I was very excited because my 8-year-old sister Cloey asked me to buy her a hat in Italy. While in Rome, I was not impressed with the selection of souvenirs. I definitely took advantage of this opportunity to get her a hat made. The artists even made me a sample with my name on it!

Then, I left the store and was bummed that I did not have something made for Dexter. I went back to the store and had the cutest collar made for him. Dexter has been primarily in the care of my sister, Corey, with some help from my boyfriend and his brother. He has not been responding very well to me being away, so I cannot wait to get back into the states to see him.

Overall, Assisi is one of the lovelies places I have ever been to. If you are looking for a quiet and magically place to travel to, I highly recommend this hidden gem of Italy!
