Francesca and Nikole loving the Italian food.
Pasta Pals

This morning our group left at 9:30 to take the tram to our media visit at Enel. Enel is a power company in Italy that also is active in several other locations like San Francisco and Reo De Janeiro. They had us meet in their “CREAcTIVE space” and set out goodie bags on our chairs. Ivano Ferioli is the Head of Internal Media and Global Internal Communications at Enel and he talked to us about his role at the company and what the company is working towards. He mentioned that the two main focuses of the internal media are digitalization and customer focus.

After the lecture, we broke up into groups, some with radio, and others for TV. The TV groups got to tour the broadcasting center downstairs and did a mock interview in the studio with Igor Uboldi, one of the anchors. I was interviewed by Casey Hoolahan and we talked about our favorite parts of the trip so far and the differences we have noticed from America to Italy. Since I’m a production major, it was weird for me to be on camera but I enjoyed it. When we came back, we ate lunch in the Enel cafeteria and I got a mozzarella and ham sandwich that was pretty good.

So far, my favorite part of the trip was tonight. The video group of our class got to shoot a video at That’s Amore, a cooking class for authentic Italian food. We left an hour early to set up and shoot some interviews at the building, that was on an island in the river. I am really excited to check out my footage and see how everything turned out. There was so much history in the whole thing whether it was ancient ruins of a temple or Marlon Brando’s old apartment. Plus, the food was out of this world. It was the best day of my life!
