Can I just say, Assisi is the absolute most beautiful place I have ever seen in my life. And I never want to leave this place. I could easily spend the rest of my days roaming the beautiful cobblestone streets. I just loved every single thing I looked at.

I loved that there were a ton of little alleyways everywhere and they were all so picturesque. I think that’s the best way to describe Assisi, picturesque. Everywhere I turned there was something gorgeous.

A small group of us went to a restaurant that Matteo recommended to us that had a lot of interesting dishes. We had a hard time finding it but once we did everything was fine. I got pasta and chick peas which was pretty good, but very much not what I was expecting.

Then we went across the street and got gelato and I had the best tiramisu gelato I’ve ever had. I mean it was the first tiramisu gelato I’ve had. But I’d go so far as to say it was the best gelato I’ve had on the trip so far.

I just loved walking around Assisi and we had the best weather to do it. Today was such an amazing day, especially after all the rain we had in Rome.

The wine tasting was a nice, unexpected surprise. I don’t drink a lot of wine (or anything other than water, really) and I like the idea of a wine tasting because it lets me try things I wouldn’t necessarily choose to try. It was a great experience. And I got a cannoli from them and it was the most delicious dessert I have ever eaten in my life. It changed me. I am not the same woman.

However, the cannoli kind of spoiled my dinner which Matteo definitely told me would happen. I ate as much as I could at the dinner just because the food was so well made and I didn’t want to miss out. But I definitely didn’t eat as much as I wanted to.

Also this hotel is simply amazing. I’m sad we’re here for just one night. Though their wifi connection isn’t great. Oh well, everything else is so nice and I am so excited to go to Florence tomorrow.
