Hi everyone!

Today, we all were able to visit Vatican City.  It is the equivalent of Disney World to Catholics.

While visiting Vatican Media, I learned that the Pope does not write and/ or post his own tweets.  This news was absolutely heartbreaking to me because I am an avid fan of Pope Francis’ social media accounts.

I also found out that the Pope does not bless the items you purchase at the Vatican.  In reality, bishops and priests that are approved by the church bless the items.  It is still amazing to have a religious item blessed at the Vatican, but it is not the same.

Okay, now that I am done venting I will tell you about my super awesome day in Vatican City.  It started off after breakfast when we headed on public transit to Vatican Media.  Getting to hear how they run their New Media and production was intriguing.

Following Vatican Media, Laura, Kimmie, and I grabbed lunch at a little Italian restaurant.  The gnocchi was delicious!

We went to the Vatican Museum after.  The art was breathtaking, but entering the Sistine Chapel was even more incredible.  Praying in a room with hundreds of strangers was so moving.

Following the Sistine Chapel, we entered St. Peter’s Basilica.  This was my favorite part of the trip thus far.  I was able to pray and see a portion of mass while there.  As a Catholic that went through RCIA, it was an amazing experience to be in the same room that the Pope was elected in.

I almost cried multiple times while being in the Basilica.  I wish I could come and hear the Pope talk sometime this trip.  It would be an honor to hear him firsthand.

Altogether, it was a fabulous day in Rome and Vatican City.  Follow along with my day tomorrow by reading my next blog or following me on Instagram: @Courtalicious3
