Hi all!

The flight to Italy was surprisingly pleasant.  I slept so well that I felt refreshed and ready to go for the day when I woke up.  We were able to exit the plane out onto the runway, and it was so cool!

When we arrived at the airport, the line for customs was long, but it luckily moved fast.  Changing in the bathroom of the airport and finishing up my makeup was a memorable experience. I learned that traveling is not always pretty!

We then loaded onto a bus and Matteo, our tour guide, gave us a bus tour of Rome.  Following the panoramic tour, I was able to throw a penny into the Trevi Fountain. I had to ask for a coin from someone in the education department because I couldn’t miss this once in a lifetime experience.

Following that, Laura and I got Kit Kat flavored gelato and a margarita pizza.  It was to die for.

Dinner was also AMAZING.  I did not realize that there were multiple courses in an Italian meal.  I could barely eat the first plate of pasta that was brought to me, but I crushed the taurimous for dessert.

Piazza Navona

Walking around the cobblestone streets of Italy was my favorite part of the day.  It is such a different culture here. The people are very fashionable and friendly to tourists which is refreshing.

I wish that the city was not covered in graffiti.  It would be so much more beautiful without it. The architecture in Italy is breathtaking, and it does not need any additional art.
