Hi! My name is Laura D’Alessandris and I am an upcoming senior at Point Park University!
One interesting thing to know about me is that I’m not a Communications major, I’m actually a Criminal Justice major and have a huge interest in traveling around the world! When I heard about this class, I immediately became excited because of my Italian background and am super lucky to have been able to get into the class!
Although my major has little interest in media, this trip has helped me tremendously in my field because of the research I’ve done on crimes in Italy and the ways their court system handles criminals. Along with my own research in the criminal justice field, this class has taught me a lot about media and the work that professionals put into it.
I’m super excited to learn about the Italian culture and explore all of the different cities, while also understanding the press and how much work is put into daily things such as magazines, newspapers, the daily news, etc. Be ready to hear all about my next two weeks abroad!
