I am not Italian, in any way shape or form, but I love learning and experiencing new/different cultures. I decided that I wanted to take the International Media class because I saw how much my older sister loved it. Last year, she came home from Ireland and Iceland and mentioned that the class might be going to Italy and I was automatically in. I have wanted to travel to Italy ever since I was a kid. Italian food and culture have a beauty to it that you can’t find anywhere else in the world.

My major is Broadcast Production and I love to tell stories through the use of photography and video. I’m excited to take this trip with my classmates and create new video or photography projects. I can’t wait to see the footage and photos that I come back with.

The media visits are probably what I am most excited about. We’ve touched on some of the companies in class, but I’m sure we will learn so much more from actually being there. Hearst Italia seems to be the big one that everyone can’t wait for, but I don’t think right now that I am more excited for one more than another.

My first trip out of the country just in December when I went to the Dominican Republic for vacation with my family. I loved every second of it and I can’t image that I won’t fall in love with Italy. I decided in the Dominican that now, every place I travel I have to try their local coffee. Italians love their espresso so I am interested in seeing if I will do the same. I’m positive that I don’t dislike any of the pasta, pizza, tiramisu, or gelato that I eat. Bring it on!
