We spent our first day here at Florence and it is a lot more hectic than I expected. There are people everywhere you walk and the restaurants and stores were always packed, but this didn’t take the beauty away from it.
Florence is filled with art and fashion. You have some of the most prestigious artworks here. From the Galleria dell’Accedmia to the Uffizi Gallery, there is so much to see and even more to learn. We had the opportunity to see the David Statue by the Italian artist Michelangelo, which was a jaw dropping experience. Ive seen David before but I do not remember how big the statue was. The lighting in the room made it surreal and I had to get closer to see if it was real (everything in Italy is so perfect that it seems fake).
The Florence Cathedral was insane! I think I keep adding how insane something is in each blog but Italy as a country is a masterpiece. There isn’t a bad view, building or landscape. The Cathedral was a headache to look at in the most flattering way. Theres so much going on but it comes together so nicely and you just want to stare at it for hours.
I was waiting to spend all my money in Milan but Florence is a competitor right now. So many of my favorite shops surrounded me as a took my walking tour and even found some I have always wanted to go to that are not in the United States.
Cant wait for this free day tomorrow so I can shop!
