Our next adventure took place in a very well-known Italian city, Venice. I was especially excited for this visit to the city because all of the pictures that I have seen of this gorgeous city have been completely drop-dead beautiful. Although I may have left my feet in the streets of Venice (shoutout to Matteo), this city was indescribably breathtaking.
There were times when I couldn’t tell if I was dreaming or if I was actually awake. The very tiny, quaint streets were something out of a fantasy that you picture in your head when reading fiction. Barely anyone could walk through the buildings unless you were in a single file line, which Matteo made sure of before we even began our walking tour. The water, the gondolas, the architecture, etc. was something that was beyond picturesque. I tried my best to soak in every single second of our walking tour because I knew from the start that not one single photo would do this stunning city justice.
Once we got on the gondola for our ride to the Grand Canal, I literally pinched myself multiple times to make sure this was real and I was actually experiencing such a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. As we floated off around the city, it was so hard to pay attention to just one single spot. Although the sights were overwhelming (in a good way), it was so relaxing and was definitely the absolute best way to soak in the views of Venice. Every time I go back into my memories of what happened today, the gondola ride is the most vivid to stick in my mind.
