Happy Festa Della Mamma to all of the mother figures in our lives!

Today was relaxing and beautiful and just what I needed.

Josh and I decided that we were going to sleep in a bit before going to breakfast because of our early morning tomorrow – it was the best decision I’ve made on this trip.

After breakfast and a brief chance to get ready, we went out on the town to explore some more of what Italy has to offer.

Our first stop was the dog park close to the hostel, but it was a little too early for the floofs and doggos to make it out yet, so we went for a walk to the Duomo and the shops surrounding it.

I stopped in Prada and Gucci, knowing very well that I didn’t have enough money to actually buy anything, but it’s fun to pretend I can.

There was also a little Sunday market set up, so we browsed the shops as well.

Then we actually headed back to the hostel, but stopped for lunch on the way there. When we got back from more pasta, we changed into our swimsuits and briefly jumped in the hostel’s pool.

I also had my first, and hopefully last, experience with a Turkish bath – it was very hot and kind of like a shower, but smelled like herbs??? Yeah, I’m not sure either, but I wasn’t a fan.

We only stayed for like a half hour because of some splashy children and the temperature of the water in the pool, but it was actually a nice break anyway.

We got changed again and then went back out to just walk.

We explored the opposite side of the Ponta Vecchia, walked in and out of shops (and I found a really cute white lacy top), and then went back to the dog park, where the pups were now out in full swing!

We got more pizza for an early dinner, then returned back to the hostel to rest again for a while and watch a movie.

Being the stubborn Americans we are, Josh, Victoria, Kelsey and I went to the 1950s American Diner for a late-night bite to eat and to see what Italianized American food tasted like. It was good, but it was missing all of the signature grease that Americans know and love.

We ended with most of the group at the Irish Pub across from the hostel before turning in for an early night.

Off to Venice tomorrow and I’m SO EXCITED!

Ciao!
