It was time to load on to another bus for a 3 hour bus ride. Of course, I’m still sick, but I’m not letting that get me down.
I slept the entire bus ride and woke up ready to explore. The bus dropped us off at a gorgeous overlook of Florence.
Seeing all of the beautiful red roofed buildings was incredible. After taking in the sights, we all loaded back on to the bus and headed to the hotel.
Our room was not ready yet so we just dropped off our bags. We walked through Florence to get to an open area outside of the Duomo. While there, we had about two and a half hours to shop and grab lunch.
Laura and I got pasta from a little pizzeria. Like all Italian pastas, it was delicious.
We shopped briefly for our family and prepared for the walking tour
My favorite part of the walking tour was getting to see David. It felt surreal seeing such a famous piece of artwork in person. I could have looked at for hours.
A majority of Florence is shops and restaurants so a lot of our tour discussed the history and architecture.
We ate dinner at a delightful pizzeria. Following dinner, I took a shower and went to sleep.
Fun fact: Italian handicap accessible rooms are just a hose in between a toilet and sink with a very small drain. Shower taking has been a very unique experience.
