Although I could have stayed in Assisi for days. I was excited to go to Florence today. Florence is a great city. It is a nice medium between a city like Rome and a small city like Assisi.We started by going to an overlook that showed off all of Florence’s beauty. One of my favorite things about Florence is how walkable it is. All cities in Italy are walkable but Florence was really easy to navigate and get around. After we saw the Duomo, we had free time for lunch and shopping where I found some gnocchi with seafood. As expected, it was amazing. After lunch we did a walking tour all around the city during the day and saw the Statue of David, which was incredible. It amazed me how much detail was in the statue. We also enjoyed looking at the Duomo and other statues throughout the city. My favorite place we went during the walking tour was the Ponte Vecchio which is a bridge with shops on it. I thought it was beautiful and it is not very often that you see things like shops on a bridge. We finished the day with some pizza which was so good. I am loving Florence so far really excited for the free day tomorrow.
