Rome, Italy
I finally had fun.
We visited Enel, which is an energy company based in Rome. At first, I wondered how this related to our majors as communications students. Then our host mentioned their T.V. & radio stations.
Of course I had to volunteer to be on-air over at their radio station. Because this is my very narrow area of expertise, I wasn’t anxious (a rarity). Instead, I was ready, having done so many on-the-spot talking segments on my own radio show.
So I introduced myself to the listeners and talked a little about my background in radio and my show, which a traslator helped communicate. Truthfully, those five minutes in the recording studio were likely the most I enjoyed myself this whole trip.
I have to admit that our lack of free time and guided tours with minimal stops has brought my mood down incredibly. I’ve felt as though we’ve had no time to actually enjoy our surroundings or just being in Italy. So being on-air for a brief moment at Enel’s radio station really improved my mood and gave me the motivation to get through our last media visit in Rome.
It’s ironic that I gained energy from an energy company.
TDLR; we finished the night off strong in Marlon Brando’s old apartment, and by strong, I mean wine-fueled. Sadly, there wasn’t much food, which contributed to the heightened atmosphere. What I can recall the best is my overactive bladder (naturally), and the noise.
At least it was fun.
