Boungiorno! Day two was a total success! Courtney and I woke up around 7 this morning to do a little exploring on our own. We figured since it was a nice morning and since we had some free time on our hands, we would get some experience in and hopefully find some hidden gems! Of course, finding these hidden gems included us walking up what seemed like a thousand flights of city stairs. However, once we got to the top, the view was clearly very worth it. After thinking we found this great treasure, we walked around some shops and went back to our hotel room to freshen up. Once we met up with the rest of our group, wouldn’t you know our very nice tour guide took us to the same exact spot where we had just come from! So of course, that made us feel like we walked up two thousand flights of stairs by just the afternoon! (Just a tip, before exploring too far in the city that you are traveling in, maybe check with your travel guide to see what the plans are for the day!)
After traveling to an interesting lecture, we got to see the gorgeous Colosseum! Seeing what is left of this structure not only made you feel so excited and inspired by it, but also sad about the history of it and what was only left of the architecture. After this was the Forum, and then dinner time!!
Just to brag a little, I had gnocchi in cheese and it was absolutely amazing! With one glass of white wine and some chocolate cake for dessert, I never felt as satisfied as I did right then. Of course finding our way back to the hotel included a small night view of the Colosseum and a little of getting lost but we made it back within 45 minutes and I couldn’t imagine a better day!
Keep following me for more! 🙂
